Peerumedu

Peerumedu is named after the Sufi saint Peer Mohammed who once made the beautiful town his home.

Rolling hills of tea, coffee and spices, pine forests, grasslands, sparkling streams and thundering waterfalls, all draw large numbers of tourists to the hill station, making it one of Idukki’s popular spots. Stock up on quality tea, coffee and spices from the plantations here.

There’s plenty to do if you’re gamer, from horseback riding to biking or trekking. Some of the other places to visit around the hill station are Kuttikanam, Peeru Hills, Pattumala, Thrissanku Hills, Karandakapara Hills and Grampi. An ideal vacation spot even in the summer with temperatures hovering between 10 and 15°C, Peerumedu is worth exploring.
