Kallarackal Ground, Thekkady
The Thekkady Flower Show also known as Thekkady Pushpamela
is an annual event conducted in the month of April at Kallarackal Ground and is
a rich visual feast of a hue of blooms from the region and beyond.
The event makes people aware of the beautiful nature of the
plant world and creates awareness regarding the protection of medicinal plants
and their curing properties. The show is organized by the Thekkady
Agri-Horticulture Society in association with Kumily Grama Panchayat and
showcases various flowers, flower arrangements and plants.
The flower festival also features cultural and arts
programs, competitions, seminars and discussions on farm-related issues daily.
The event offers fun-filled evenings laden with entertainment programs, an
amusement park and food court. A variety of medicinal plants are also
exhibited.
